The Best Summer Activities in Fairhaven

The city of Bellingham is known for its abundance of outdoor recreational opportunities, especially in the summertime, and Fairhaven is no exception to that. In Fairhaven, you'll find a good mixture of outdoor events, physical activities, and live entertainment to keep you busy all summer long. Below are some Fairhaven summer favorites for you to check out, so take advantage while summer is still here:
Boulevard Park
Boulevard Park is a local favorite, and a place to go back to again and again for so many reasons. For one, the park is located right on the bay, where there's direct access to the waterfront with the trails and boardwalk that go along it. It also has a playground, stage for events, a large grassy area for outdoor games and relaxation, a coffee shop, and public restrooms. In the summertime, you can occasionally watch live music or other entertainment at the park.
Chuckanut Drive
Along Chuckanut Drive, you'll find an assortment of entertainment opportunities that can keep you busy all day. There are a number of hiking trailheads along the road, places to park for beach access, parks, and restaurants, not to mention the entire length of the road has breathtaking views of Bellingham Bay.
Stones Throw Brewery
Stones Throw Brewery has inviting outdoor spaces for soaking up the summer weather while enjoying a craft beer. During the summer, you can often catch a live music event and enjoy food from local food trucks at the brewery.
San Juan Cruises
San Juan Cruises is a company that operates a variety of boat cruises in Bellingham Bay and around the San Juan islands seasonally (from late spring to early fall). Some of their cruises include a wine tasting cruise, cracked crab dinner cruise, and an all day whale watching cruise. These cruises are highly popular and fill up fast.
Community Boating Center
A great way to make the most of the warm summer weather is to get out on the bay in a watercraft. Through the Community Boating Center, you can choose to rent a watercraft, take a boating class, or join in a group paddling or sailing experience. If you have your own watercraft, the Community Boating Center has dry and wet mooring available.
