Chuckanut Drive is a scenic road that starts in Fairhaven and extends down to Burlington. There are plenty of reasons to add it to your to-do list, but even taking a drive down the road alone is 100% worthwhile. The majority of the road runs down the edge of Bellingham Bay, so the entire drive is filled with breathtaking bay and island views.

A lot of Chuckanut Drive's appeal surrounds the outdoor activities that are available. The road is an access point for many hikes, including Oyster Dome, which rewards determined hikers with out-of-this-world views overlooking Bellingham Bay. Larrabee State Park is another very worthwhile stop on the road, which gives users access to camping, hiking, and beaches. Aside from Larrabee State Park, you can find lots of other places to stop and park along Chuckanut Drive to access various hiking trails and beaches.

Taylor Shellfish Farms has a store on the waterfront that provides a great selection of fresh seafood to purchase and take home to cook. For a gourmet restaurant experience, The Oyster Bar and Chuckanut Manor are both well worth the visit for excellent seafood and views.
