Village Books is a community-based, independent bookstore located in the Historic Fairhaven Village on the southside of Bellingham and in the iconic Waples Mercantile Building on Front Street in Lynden, Washington. Since 1980, we have been "building community one book at a time." In Fairhaven, Village Books is a place to meet your friends, talk books, or relax at Evolve Chocolate + Cafe, overlooking the Village Green. If you're in the neighborhood, come on in to explore!

Village Books hosts more than 300 Literature Live author events annually. Village Books' Readings Gallery provides an intimate experience with the authors as it is quiet and comfortable. The bookstore also hosts book and writing groups and -- with Whatcom Community College -- a writing class series. Check their schedule on the home page of their website.
