The Pickford Film Center presents Doctober – a month-long celebration of the art of documentary with more than 50 diverse films lined up. Featuring films such as March of the Penguins and The Last Dalai Lama, there is sure to be something intriguing for everyone.
Pickford Film Center set out in 1998 with a mission to serve the community with “the highest quality movie-going experience possible at an affordable price, while working to foster arts education and visual literacy in our community.” Today the center remains a nonprofit arts venue supported by devoted members, local businesses, and film audiences.
Pickford Film Center is the only independent cinema featuring films 365 days of the year between Seattle and Vancouver B.C. and serves as the leading community source for independent, foreign, and documentary films. The venue also welcomes hosting special events for schools, universities and community organizations.
The snack lobby offers more than popcorn, with a variety of snacks from local companies and a selection of beer and wine curated seasonally. Snacks may be enjoyed in the theater to further enhance your movie-going experience.
Pickford Film Center is situated at the epicenter of the Arts District in downtown Bellingham and Doctober runs until November 5. You can view the full line-up here.
