Salmon BBQ - Sep 2010 Photo GalleryGallery Home › Salmon BBQ - Sep 2010The weather cleared for just a few hours - but it was perfectly timed for the Salmon BBQ and Sidewalk Sale on this Saturday afternoon. Almost 300 dinners were served on the Village Green.Page 1 of 1 pages
Three of the dozen volunteers who helped make the salmon bbq a success. From left, Katherine serving corn on the cob from Joe's Gardens, Janice with the salmon and Pam spooning up cole slaw from Skylarks. Cathy sold the dinners for $12 each and Bob Currie started them out with a roll from Avenue Bread. Wendy, the owner of Avenue Bread, donated the unique and easy to manage wheels with over 30 rolls per wheel. Plus there was regular and Rosemary. Dirty Dan Harris enjoys his salmon dinner listening to the music of the Marion Weston band. Dan also helped give out the rolls and was the voice on the radio ads for the BBQ. Above is the chef Bryant Davis on the right with his assistant John on the left. Bryant is a Realtor with Re/Max in Bellingham and donated his skills to help out the Fairhaven Community. He did a superb job on the wild King Salmon fillets from Vis Seafoods on James Street. We sincerely thank him. And we want to thank Kyle Bornstein and Bornstein Seafoods for the effort to get us fresh caught this week wild Kings from our own waters in the Salish Sea near Fairhaven.
