Fairhaven merchants are ready for the 18th annual Summer Solstice celebration.  Participating shops will have special art displays and many will have the artists there to talk about their work.  Refreshments will be given out in many shops and there will be the ceremonial summer solstice fire lighting on the Village Green.

The evening festivities start at 5 pm when Dirty Dan Harris will help with the traditional lighting of the fire, a tradition from Europe that goes back to prehistoric times.  It is a quiet and touching ceremony that many enjoy each year.

We invite you to Fairhaven and promise you an enjoyable time.  Walk about visiting the shops and galleries from 5 to 9 pm.  You can download an easy to print PDF file with a map and list of participating merchants, as shown above.  And this is a good place to thank Erica Hume, the manager of Artwood Gallery, for organizing this event every year since almost the beginning.

The Silvery Moon has just returned from the World's Largest Gem Show with a huge selection of mohi colored sapphires and new designs. Show your Valentine your love.
