Lions give new flag to Fairhaven

The Fairhaven Lions Club contributed a new flag to the Fairhaven community.  Strictly speaking, it goes to the Old Fairhaven Association for use on our 100 foot tall flag pole.  A large flag like this is needed for that pole.  Yes, it is folded in half to keep it from touching the ground.

From left to right we have:  Sig Hansen, Pres.;  Ed Warner, Director;  Lorrie Banning, Secretary;  Jan Polen;  Pete Acalin, PZC;  Bob Moe, Treasurer; PDG Dick Banning; Wayne Tew and then Stephanie Johnson, VP of the Association and Doug Borneman, Association Director.

We have several flags for flying.  Some are large for the light breezes of summer and some are smaller with extra stitching for winter.  Some are currently awaiting repairs while others are folded neatly and are ready for use.  This new flag may fly this winter as it has brighter colors than the one flying these November days.  We thank the Lions for this fine flag.  These are the same folks who help us care for and water the hanging flower baskets around our historic district streets.  They have been most helpful over the years as the Association cares for the ambience of the district.  Again, thanks folks.

The Silvery Moon has just returned from the World's Largest Gem Show with a huge selection of mohi colored sapphires and new designs. Show your Valentine your love.
