Breakfast Interrupted

No one was hurt.  The two guys who frequent this table for breakfast were quick enough to jump away.  And the damage is about repaired. 

It happened early Saturday morning at Harris Avenue Cafe, one of Fairhaven’s most popular breakfast and lunch places.  No, a driver did not push the wrong pedal.  It was actually a slow speed crash.  The carpet cleaning crew had their van parked diagonally at the curb with the motor running to power their cleaning equipment.  They were working in a second floor office, above the restaurant.  And - yep, you guessed it - the transmission slipped into a gear and the van lurched slowly ahead, over the curb and against the building.  And stopped. 

The photos were taken by Ron Mueller who was enjoying breakfast at another table and we are showing them with permission of Robin, the restaurant owner.  We certainly do not want to deter anyone from coming to breakfast in Fairhaven.  The above photo is so interesting - even funny now that we know no one was hurt.  Breakfast interrupted, indeed. Looks like healthy eating.  Wonder if he got another free order.  Sans glass.  At another table.  Or lost his appetite.  I’ll have to interview him.
