Merchant Meetings
Monthly Merchant meetings are open to participation by all members. Discussion items include marketing, events, news, publicity, introductions of new business owners, and often a presentation on a relevant Fairhaven issue. Meetings are held at Village Books in the downstairs author reading area, and start at 9 am sharp, ending just before 10 am so merchants may get their businesses open. Enter through the Colophon Cafe door off the Village Green.
Merchant meetings are on the second Wednesday of each month, except there is no meeting in December.
2013 - Jan 9, Feb 13, March 13, April 10, May 8, June 12, July 10, Aug 7, Sep 11, Oct 9 and Nov 13.
Thursday, March 14, 2013 - Annual Membership Meeting - 6:00 to 8:00 pm - location TBD. All members are encouraged to attend. The Board will give their annual report to the members and this is a fun meeting for all. Refreshments will be served. An email to all members in February will specify where the meeting will take place.
Board of Directors Meetings
All Association members are welcome to attend board meetings. Board meetings start at 6:15 pm in the community room of the Whidbey Island Bank. In March, the board meeting is the annual General Membership meeting and is held at a special venue to be announced.
Board meetings are on the second Thursday of each month, except there is no meeting in August and December.

The Historic Fairhaven Association (HFA) is a non-profit, all volunteer organization founded in 1972 to promote the Fairhaven area while preserving its historic character. The Historic Fairhaven Association board of directors and members work together year round to promote the success of the district.

Membership dues are leveraged to reach and draw thousands to Fairhaven through fundraising events promoting the success of this district through advertising, press relations, brochures, district beautification, website presence, holiday decorations and events. All HFA memberships are renewed annually in June for the July 1st-June 30th dues year. If you join between May and September, dues are 100%. If you join October thru December, they are 75%, and from January thru April are 50%. Dues paid in May and June extend through the following dues year.
Dues are based on Membership Type. Participation in the Advertising Support is optional ~ however, the more businesses that contribute toward advertising, the better job we can do with exposure for us all!

Board of Directors
The Board meets monthly and conducts the business of the Association. Election of the Directors by all Association members takes place each November. Directors are elected for two year terms with a portion being elected each year. For 2013, there are 15 Directors. The last election was on Wednesday, Nov 14, 2012.
