Local author Sandra Bowens discusses her cookbook, Spiced Right: Flavorful Cooking with Herbs & Spices, which highlights the use of fresh and dried herbs, spices and flavorful condiments to create tasty, healthy dishes. The recipes are original, bringing in modern ingredients like whole wheat pastry flour and an abundance of fresh fruits and vegetables that add a healthy twist whenever possible. Bowens has twenty-five years in the food service business; she is committed to an insistence on wholesome food made from quality ingredients that taste good.
